This procedure is performed under local anaesthesia with sedation and is usually carried out on an outpatient basis. Depending on the extent of the intervention, blepharoplasty typically lasts between one and two hours, or slightly longer if combined with additional procedures such as a brow lift. Post-operative bruising usually resolves within 5 to 10 days, although recovery can be accelerated using a specific type of laser available in our Laser Unit. <\/p>\n

Blepharoplasty is associated with a high level of patient satisfaction due to its favourable aesthetic results, which become definitive approximately two to three weeks after surgery. <\/p>\n

Blepharoplasty outcomes<\/h3>\n

The result of eyelid surgery is a more open, rested and refreshed appearance. The effects are completely natural and do not involve any change in eye shape or facial expression. The objective of this procedure is not to transform facial features, but to correct a sign of ageing that may, in some cases, also have functional implications. In fact, many patients report an improvement in vision after excess eyelid skin is removed, particularly when it previously interfered with their visual field. <\/p>\n

The benefits of surgery become apparent quickly, as inflammation is temporary and minor bruising typically resolves spontaneously within 5 to 10 days, depending on the extent of the procedure. Final results are usually visible around one month after surgery, although patients can generally resume normal daily activities a couple of weeks earlier. <\/p>\n

During the first few days, patients should avoid using make-up or cosmetic products around the eyes. Physical exercise should be avoided for at least two weeks.
