High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) with mesopuncture

High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) combined with mesopuncture — Liftera — is a non-surgical medical technique designed to improve facial firmness and redefine contours without surgery. This approach acts on the deeper planes involved in skin laxity using focused ultrasound energy, while superficial mesopuncture helps optimise skin quality. Also known as facial HIFU with mesopuncture or ultrasound-based facial tightening, it is particularly indicated in cases of mild to moderate skin laxity, when progressive and natural-looking improvement is sought. Treatment planning should always follow an individual medical assessment to determine the indication, treatment depth and realistic goals.

What sets us apart

Facial tightening treatment with an integrated, personalised approach

At Grupo Pedro Jaén, we approach Liftera treatment from a structural medical perspective. It is not simply a matter of applying energy, but of acting precisely on the planes responsible for facial descent, respecting the anatomy and adapting intensity, depth and distribution to each face. Combination with mesopuncture makes it possible to complement the deep tightening effect with an additional improvement in skin quality. This integrated approach supports harmonious results that remain coherent with the patient’s facial structure.

What it is, how it is performed and results

A guide to understanding high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) with mesopuncture

High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) is a non-invasive medical technique that uses controlled thermal energy to stimulate natural collagen production in the deeper layers of the skin. Complementary mesopuncture consists of superficial microinjections adapted to each skin type, aimed at improving visible parameters such as texture, radiance and elasticity.

This is an outpatient procedure that should be indicated after an individual medical assessment.

Indications

Liftera is mainly indicated in people with:

  • Progressive loss of firmness.
  • Loss of definition of the facial oval.
  • Mild laxity in the neck or submental area.
  • A need to improve skin quality without modifying volume.
  • A desire to prolong the results of other medical-aesthetic treatments.

It does not replace a surgical facelift, but may be an option when surgery is not indicated.

How the treatment is performed

The session begins with skin cleansing and planning of the areas to be treated. The HIFU device delivers programmed pulses that reach the established depth without damaging the skin surface.

The mesopuncture phase is then performed, using superficial microdeposits adapted to the patient’s needs.

The session usually lasts between 30 and 60 minutes, depending on the areas treated.

How many sessions are needed?

A slight immediate tightening sensation may be noticed, although the real changes develop progressively over the following weeks.

The maximum result is usually observed between the second and third month, coinciding with collagen reorganisation.

Recovery and safety

No medical leave is required. Mild redness or temporary sensitivity may appear and usually resolves within hours or a few days.

As with any medical procedure, a prior assessment is essential to confirm the indication and rule out contraindications.
