What sets us apart
Natural and lasting results
Facial microlifting with permanent sutures is a technique that repositions tissues without the need for a scalpel, offering natural and lasting results. This treatment is tailored to the needs of each patient and acts directly on the signs of ageing, such as loss of firmness, sagging of the facial contours or the formation of marked furrows. Its minimally invasive nature and ability to stimulate collagen make it an excellent option for those looking for rejuvenation without surgery.

A guide to understanding microlifting with permanent sutures
Non-surgical facial lifting is indicated in cases of marked skin laxity and mature skin that does not achieve a significant improvement with dermal fillers and/or absorbable tensioning systems. It is also recommended for patients who are not yet candidates for a full surgical facelift or who do not wish to undergo a procedure of this kind. Microlifting with permanent sutures offers an immediate and long-lasting improvement, which continues to enhance progressively over the following weeks.
Non-surgical facial lifting
Facial microlifting with permanent sutures is a procedure designed to treat sagging of the lower third of the face. This process is commonly reflected externally by the appearance of soft bulges along the mandibular border, the accentuation of marionette lines around the chin, thinning and descent of the cheek skin, and flattening of the cheekbones.
Treatment of facial laxity through microlifting with permanent sutures aims to reduce these signs of ageing without altering the overall appearance of the face. The result is a more harmonious face with a younger, fresher and more rested look.
What non-surgical facial lifting involves
Microlifting with permanent sutures is performed in the operating theatre under local anaesthesia and sedation. The procedure may be carried out in three phases, although not all phases are required in every patient. Depending on this, the treatment usually lasts between one and a half and two hours.
For this reason, specialists in non-surgical facial lifting at the Grupo Pedro Jaén Facial Aesthetics Unit carry out a personalised pre-treatment assessment for each patient in order to determine which phases are most appropriate in each case.
First phase
A limited liposuction of the mandibular margin and the central neck area is performed using a very fine cannula.
Second phase
An endolaser is introduced to heat the deeper layers of the skin, promoting tissue retraction and tightening.
Third phase
Skin retightening systems are placed through small incisions made in inconspicuous areas (posterior hairline, behind the ears, etc.), ensuring they remain perfectly concealed after treatment. A subcutaneous tension suture is also applied to lift sagging skin. The skin is repositioned to respect facial harmony, and superficial stitches are placed and removed after a few days.
“In general, the best outcomes are achieved by combining different therapeutic options and intervening at an early stage”
Recovery after microlifting with permanent sutures
After the procedure, the patient may experience a sensation of tightness in the cheek and peri-auricular areas, as these are the zones where the permanent sutures are placed and traction is applied. These symptoms are managed with local cold application and standard analgesics, and gradually subside in the days following the procedure.
During the first few days, patients should sleep with their head slightly elevated and avoid abrupt movements or gestures, such as forcefully turning the neck, resting the hand on the cheeks, exaggerated yawning or loud laughter.
The specialist from the Facial Aesthetics Unit responsible for the treatment remains available at all times to address any questions related to recovery after microlifting with permanent sutures.
Microlifting results
The result of facial microlifting with permanent sutures is immediate, long-lasting and continues to improve over time. The face appears rejuvenated and rested, as the procedure achieves a more defined jawline, elevates the cheekbones and produces firmer, smoother cheeks. The neck regains smoothness and firmness, with visibly repositioned, wrinkle-free tissue. The same improvement is observed in the jowls and the submental area.
